Metal Gear Solid: Acquiescence is a short, 30 minute fan film centering around the game series' hero Solid Snake. The story follows Snake on his first mission for the secret organization known as Foxhound. After being deployed to Coloso, Colombia, he infiltrates a factory to retrieve a hostage scientist and data concerning the development of a new, secret weapon. Soon after his insertion, things go wrong and he is in a fight for his life against a murderous, draconian leader; hellbent on the production of a weapon that could turn the tide of any war.
This project was a test of the limits for young filmmakers in Atlanta, Georgia. Approaching a genre all of its own, we produced a tribute to the video game series, Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear's amazing storytelling and cinematic nature prompted us to make a film that pays homage to the games and director, Hideo Kojima's contribution to the collective consciousness of science fiction
and cinema.
This was meant to be a learning experience for everyone involved to make a short film with actual production value. Our one fear was that we were tackling something that we didn't have the means to mimic stylistically. Despite this we are all deeply proud of this tribute and are continuing to make our work better and surpass what we've just produced.
To everyone that made this possible and supported us over the last year; we all deeply thank you. To anyone else looking to make an MGS fan-film, don't shoot during the winter and good luck!
Special thanks goes out to the following:
